If you've only found us on the web, we hope you'll come and see what we're like for real. You're welcome to join us for any of our Sunday services and you can find more information about them on our 'Services' page. All are welcome – you're invited!
St Joseph's has recently had a completely new start. During 2015, the church has had a significant renovation – modernising both inside and outside ready to welcome a new congregation. We have been holding monthly preview services since November 2015 and from 28th February 2016 we'll be full steam ahead - with weekly services, groups for children and young people (0 – 18 years) and community activities. All are invited!
St Joseph's is the second site of a multi-site church – a partnership between Jesmond Parish Church and St Joseph's. Our hope is that St Joseph's will be a church that reaches out to its local community, to Newcastle, Tyneside and Britain with the good news and love of Jesus Christ.
We're a church family of all ages and many nationalities, with children's and youth work too. We also have ministries especially for students and internationals, however these are primarily based at our Jesmond site. In addition we have groups for a wide range of people – from sporting to musical, from babies and toddlers to seniors. You can find out more at Groups & Events.
At St. Joseph's, to help you settle and feel you belong here we would encourage you to join one of our Midweek Groups – where people can get to know one another. These are for everyone, whether you are just looking into what Christians believe, or you're already a Christian and would like to be more sure about your faith and grow in it.
The Bible says the church is 'the body of Christ' and that, 'the whole body grows and builds itself up in love as each part does its work' (Ephesians 4.16). So we want to support everyone at St Joseph's in using their gifts to serve the church, making Jesus known to new people and making a difference for Jesus in public life.
People sometimes ask, 'What is there for me to do in a church that's already got lots of people?' But since our vision is to grow, the answer is, 'Plenty!' So please take a look at our Mission and Vision – and talk to any of us on the church staff about how you can belong and serve at St Joseph's.
